Recreation staff have a 40-hour work week with the possibility of working weekends and holidays. Assist recreation staff with camps, school groups, and craft programs Assist with injured animal transport (including birds and small mammals) or wild animal relocations (including rattlesnakes and alligators) Assist naturalist interns with animal care, exhibit maintenance (including daily/weekly feedings), and meet the animals program Take the lead on tasks related to collecting data for/developing current Head Naturalist projects including (but not limited to) our native pollinator garden, dolphin photo ID project, and alligator tagging project Develop and implement an EXTENDED independent, community outreach based research project under the direction and supervision of the Head Naturalist to present to our guests/residents at the end of your position term The Activity Center houses a variety of reptiles and marine life which naturalists will use to educate resort guests and residents to instill a passion for nature and wildlife (see our website link for more program information) Lead resort guests/residents on nature programs including kayak tours, canoeing trips, gator walks, birding programs, fishing programs, nature of the night programs, etc. Organize, implement, and evaluate all daily recreation activities involving nature Below is an outline of the job responsibilities: Agency Fripp Island Golf and Beach Resort Location Fripp Island Golf & Beach Resort Job Category Temporary/Seasonal Positions Salary $9/hour with $150 deducted each pay period (biweekly) for on-island shared housing with internet and tv also has free access to all of the resort amenities including pools, tennis, golf, and restaurants Last Date to Apply Website Description Our Naturalists will be responsible for assisting the Head Naturalist and other recreation staff members with daily operations in the Fripp Island Activity Center.
